The late actor Sushant Singh Rajput had once talked about wanting to partake in actor Shah Rukh Khan’s Mumbai home Mannat. In an old interview, Sushant was sitting in a coffee shop near Shah Rukh’s house and saw several cars enter the venue. He told me how he wanted to go in and party one day. Then I was invited to Shah Rukh’s Eid Party, which he told me was ‘really nice’. Sushant started his career with television and gained popularity with Pavitra Rishta. He made his Bollywood debut with Kai Po Che (2013). He has appeared in many other films such as Shuddh Desi Romance (2013), PK (2014), Detective Biomakesh Bakshi! (2015), MS Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016), Rabta (2017), Kedarnath (2018), Sonchiria, Drive (2019) and Chichore (2019).
In an interview with Rediff in 2013, Sushant said, “In my growing up days, I watched a lot of Yash Raj films, especially Shah Rukh Khan films. I was a big fan of his films. I was never star-struck. Remember when I was sitting in the coffee shop, they were partying and I saw a lot of big cars getting into their bungalow. ). “
Talking about working on projects other than films, Sushant said, “I am looking to work on good projects and it can happen anywhere, regardless of media. If anything is interesting on television, I will definitely do it. Whatever it takes, our industry mentality is that once you graduate from theater to television, you can’t go back. The biggest of Hollywood actors are doing all the media at one time. “
Sushant was found dead on June 14, 2020 at the age of 34 at his Mumbai residence. This year marks the second anniversary of his death. His last film was Dil Bechar (2020) and it was released on Disney + Hotstar about a month after his death. Directed by Mukesh Chhabra, the film stars Sanjana Sanghi, Nithya Chatterjee, Swastika Mukherjee, Sunit Tandon and Sahil Vaid.
