West Bengal Class 12 State board exam results declared, boys outperform girls

West Bengal Uccha Madhyamil Result 2022 Pass Rate, List of Toppers: West Bengal Board of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) on June 10 announced the results of the Senior Secondary Examinations (Grade 12) with a score of 88.44 per cent of candidates who passed the exams. Students who appeared in these exams can check their results on the official websites – wbchse.nic.in and wbresults.nic.in.

This year, a total of 7,44,655 students were registered, of whom 7,20,862 students (96.8%) took part in the examination. A total of 6,36,875 students (88.44 percent) passed the test.

The success rate among male students was 90.19 per cent and female students 86.58 per cent. A total of 4,97,809 students scored 60 percent and above of marks.

Adisha Deb Sharma of Dinahata Soni Debi Jain Secondary School in Cooch Behar district of North Bengal topped the test after obtaining 498 marks out of a total of 500 (99.6%).

Sayandeep Samanta of Jalchak Natsuwari Netaji Vidyatan in West Midnapur district came second with 497 marks (99.4 per cent).

Four students came third with 496 marks (99.2 per cent). They are Rohin Sen from Patha Bhawan in Kolkata, Soham Das from Hooghly Collegiate School in Hooghly district, Avik Das from Katwa Kashiram Das Foundation in East Bordwan district, and Parichay Pari Jalchak Nateswari Netaji Vidyayatan in West Midnapur district.

The districts with more than 90 percent pass rate are: East Midnapur, West Midnapur, Jharram, Purulia, Kalimpong, South 24 Barganas and Bankura.

The pass rate among students belonging to minority communities is 85.59 percent while the same rate for students belonging to ST/SC communities is 88.35 percent.

This year, 272 students are enrolled in the top ten merit list, of whom 144 are male and 128 are female.

WBCHSE President Chiranjib Bhattacharya announced during a press conference the State Board Class 12 result. “HS results will be announced within 44 days of the end of the exam. In 2023, the HS exam will take place between 14 and 27 March. The exam will be held on the full syllabus. It will be conducted at external examination centers and not at home places which were the same this year,” Bhattacharya said.

In 2020, Senior Secondary Examinations cannot be taken due to the COVID-19 outbreak situation and marks are awarded based on the student’s past academic performance. Similarly in 2021 it was not possible to take the exam due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation and all students who took the exam were declared successful.
