Watch: Three eye catching visuals from Day 5 of CWG 2022

Srikanth Kidambi, who was in tears after losing his singles mixed finals to Malaysia, endured the defeat, was pushed to the limit in his match. Experience the moment, as he is pushed around the court with Malaysian brilliance, but he doesn’t give up. A side lunge, then frantically ran after another lunge recovery but the Malaysian is unrelenting. The brutality of this sport, the sweat and toil, could be seen in all its glory.

Helen Housby – The Coolest Athlete

Helen Hawsby, the England netball star who grew up a David Beckham fan, once again proved why she is one of the coolest athletes out there. At CWG yesterday, she was hacking a transition from Texas rapper Lizzo’s Superhit About Damn Time. Watch Houseby utter the lyrics and wiggle away with glee. It deserves to be seen in an episode.

The words coincidentally run like this: In a minute I need a passionate man/man or woman to pump me up/I’m upset, walking into Balenci-ussy’s/Tryna to bring out the awesome.

Houseby has definitely been great on court. Four years ago, Hosby cemented herself in netball folklore by scoring in the last second of the final against Australia to give England their first netball gold. The photo of her being mocked by her teammates – all lying on top of each other, screaming their lungs, is one of the defining moments from the CWG. I confessed seeing that photo a lot.

winning couple

Paul Drinkhall, England’s TT… Joanna and Paul Drinkhall won the gold medal in the mixed doubles competition at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, defeating teammate Liam Pitchford and Tin Tin Ho in the final. Joanna is his wife. They married in 2013. Immediately after the win, Drinkhall ran towards their children who were cheering parents.
