On May 17, 1972, Don Gorsk, a resident of Wisconsin, USA, after buying his first car went to McDonald’s and ate three Big Mac meals. Little did he know it would be a classic love at first bite. On May 17, 2022, Don has celebrated the 50th anniversary of eating a Big Mac every day since May 17, 1972. Yes. You don’t eat a McDonald’s burger almost every day. According to claims, he has missed eating his Big Mac by only eight days in half a century. But the stats check since, on several days, Don ate more than two Big Macs a day. The number increased to nine burgers a day.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary, Don went to the same McDonald’s store in Fond du Lac where he had his first Big Mac in 1972. Recalling his memories of that day, he said, “At that moment I said, ‘I’m going to probably eat these for the rest of my life.'” Don is no less than a celebrity at a McDonald’s at Fond du Lac. He even has a picture of himself hanging on one of the establishment’s walls.
take a look:
Donald, is not only a regular at McDonald’s, but also a frequent visitor in the Guinness Book of Records. His first record was officially recognized in 1999, when he held the record for most Big Mac burgers eaten in his life. In that time, Don had eaten 15,490 burgers. In August 2021, Guinness World Records updated the record holder who ate a total of 32,340 Big Macs.
Since great records require great evidence, he doesn’t run without trouble there because he’s been meticulously collecting all of the Big Mac’s covers and receipts. He also keeps a glass case with casings from different years, showing the changes the food chain has gone through, and their burgers.
