State Energy Minister AK Sharma, in a meeting with Power Department officials in Aligarh on Friday evening, emphasized on reducing line losses, increasing revenues and finding a permanent solution to power tripping.
“All necessary steps to find a solution to power problems should be taken on a priority basis and in the interests of consumers, with available technology. Information on one-time solution (OTS) schemes should be made available so that pending disputes are resolved and if necessary, both the Department of Power and the Consumer Affairs Authority will be accommodated, ”Sharma said.
The minister, who gave directions to improve the services rendered by the power department, told the officials that they should be better coordinated with the masses without neglecting the elected representatives. Sharma held a separate meeting with elected representatives, SSP and DM of Aligarh.
“Elected representatives should be invited along with the date announced before the monthly coordination meetings with the authorities. Similar meetings of the Smart City Advisory Committee should be held regularly and the ideas suggested by the elected representatives should be included and discussed, ”Sharma said.
“The Electricity Department is committed to ensuring uninterrupted power supply and must take all necessary steps to ensure this. There has been a significant improvement in the electricity services in the last five years and currently 25,400 MW is being supplied in the Northern region,” Sharma said.
Minister of State for Women Welfare and Child Development Pratibha Shukla, who was present at the meeting, instructed the police to register cases on a women’s complaint.
