Ukraine Says 13,000 Alleged Russian War Crimes Being Probed

Ukrainian Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova said there were about 13,000 cases of alleged Russian war crimes being investigated as of Monday. “As of today, we only have more than 13,000 (under investigation) cases involving war crimes,” Venediktova said in an interview with The Washington Post.

Kyiv accused Russia of committing atrocities and brutality against civilians during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Russia has denied targeting civilians or being involved in war crimes while carrying out what it calls a “special military operation” in Ukraine.
