Earlier, gangster Salman Khan had threatened to kill him for poaching the blackbuck, considered sacred by his community.

In his complaint, Saraswat told the police that on July 3, a threatening letter was found on the doorknob of the High Court’s Jubilee Chamber, which houses lawyers’ offices.

The letter contained the initials of Lawrence Bishnoi and his assistant Goldie Brar, the complaint said.

It said lawyers would meet Siddu Moosewala’s fate, adding that “the friend of an enemy is his first enemy”.

“Saraswat’s assistant Jitendra Prasad found the letter and he immediately informed the lawyer. But as he (Saraswat) is out of India, he informed the police commissioner about the matter. After this, an FIR was registered on Wednesday,” Mahamandir SHO Lekh Raj Sihag said.

“We are verifying the authenticity of the letter and have provided security to Saraswat keeping in view the threat,” Sihag said.
