Thanks to PM Modi, Gujarat has done well in education, health and security: CM Bhupendra Patel

To make progress in any sector, three basic factors are needed – education, health and security. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gujarat has done well in all three, Prime Minister Bhupendra Patil said on Thursday.

The Chief Minister was addressing a gathering after the launch of the 17th edition of Kanya Kelavani & Shala Praveshotsav, the state government’s annual school enrollment drive, in Memadpur village of Vadgam tehsil in
Banaskantha district.

“With the aim of making Gujarat an engine of growth and to strengthen the foundations of education in the state, Narendrabhai (Modi) Kanya Kelavani & Shala Praveshotsav was started in 2003. If the foundation of education is strong, we can make progress in both of them,” said the Chief Minister.

The campaign in Gujarat was started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2003 when he was the Chief Minister of the state.

According to Banaskantha District Primary Education Officer Sanjay Parmar, “A total of 71 eligible children were enrolled in Grade 1 by CM in two government primary schools (one each for boys and girls) in Memadpur village. Thirty-five children (in the age group of 3) were also enrolled by CM. -5) In the Anganwadi of Memadpur.”

In Banaskantha, more than 15,000 first graders were registered on Thursday under the campaign.
Memadpur is a village of Vadgam tehsil, part of Vadgam assembly constituency in Banaskantha district, represented by independent MLA Jignesh Mevani who has pledged support to the opposing Congress.

CM said that education is essential if we want to utilize technology in any field and attempts have always been made to enhance this in Gujarat. He said that due to those attempts, the drop-out rate in Gujarat has decreased significantly. Claiming that the Gujarat government provided the best facilities for engineering education and medical services in the state, CM referred to the performance of the state government in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic “with the guidance of Chief Minister Narendrabhai”.

CM also cited the government’s Ayushman Card initiative under which an eligible person can get medical benefits up to Rs 5 lakh for any illness.

Speaking of security, CM said, “Earlier, before going to Ahmedabad, people here should be checked first if everything is OK there. Many old people must have seen this two decades ago. (But) the little ones, who are between 20 and 22 years old, won’t even know what the disturbances are.”
