Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao on Tuesday instructed the authorities to organize the Independence India Vajrotsava (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav) with pomp and grandeur, which will swell the people with patriotic fervour.
KCR instructed to distribute national flags to people free of cost.
The Azadi Amrita Mahotsava celebrations will be organized by the state government from August 8 to 22.
In a high-level meeting held at Pragati Bhavan with a committee headed by K. Keshav Rao and other high officials, the Chief Minister suggested taking steps to make it a grand success, including hoisting the national flag at every house on August 15. .
CM KCR instructed the officials to start distributing the flag from August 9.

He appealed to students in schools to employees, higher authorities, people’s representatives, youth and the entire Telangana community to participate in the celebration with enthusiasm.
‘The Chief Minister has decided to organize the inaugural program of the Diamond Jubilee at HICC, Hyderabad. The CM said cultural programs will be conducted with independence spirit, patriotic national songs and national salute with army and police bands. Later, the inaugural address, Speaker’s address and CM KCR’s Diamond Jubilee special address and vote of thanks will be delivered at the event, read the official statement.
Other decisions taken in the meeting include decoration of public places like bus stands, railway stations, airports, hospitals and shopping malls.
All government buildings along with historical buildings will be illuminated with colorful lights.
