The German player who criticized Harmony Tan for withdrawing from the doubles match at Wimbledon has contracted COVID-19.
Tamara Korbach said on Instagram that she tested positive and withdrew from her next tournament in France.
It is at least the fourth known case of COVID-19 among players who have competed or planned to compete in the All England Club.
Eighth seed Matteo Berrettini, runner-up Novak Djokovic a year ago, and 14th seed Marin Cilic withdrew before the tournament kicks off. Roberto Bautista Agut No. 17 won the first round match but withdrew on Thursday.
Corbach lost to Heather Watson in a first-round singles match at Wimbledon.
She then criticized Tan after the French player withdrew from the doubles to focus on the singles.
Tan had just beaten Serena Williams in the singles. She kept running, and reached the fourth floor.
