But over the past few weeks, Shailesh has been rumored to pull out of the hit show. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah Producer Asit Modi has broken his silence on the rumours.

He told The Times of India that he is “not aware of the same”, but sources have previously reported that the poet-turned-actor has submitted an application to be written off the show. However, the team was doing everything they could to convince him to stay.

Asit Modi confirmed that he was not aware of any such development and added that he is only focusing on improving the quality of the show and making it more interesting.

“All my actors have been in business for over 10 years. I have not been informed or I don’t know that Shalish wants to leave the show. If there is any development, I will definitely talk about it. As of now, I am focusing on how to make the show more interesting for viewers,” Asit Modi shared in Interview with ETimes.

Shailesh Lodha shared a post on his Instagram recently and fans flooded the comment section saying, “Don’t leave the show sir 🙏🏻”.

Earlier, a source told indianexpress.com, “Shayesh feels his character has been lost among the band. While he has brought forward his dates, there is not much for him to do. Also, after the pandemic is over, Kafe Samilans is starting again and he is very busy. He recently told the production house. That he did not wish to continue. Shalish now stopped coming to shoot and held his ground.”

The source also added that the actors’ contracts are very close and that leaving the show is very difficult. “Shayesh may be upset that he is not seen and may have other fruitful performances, but quitting can never be the solution. Both parties are trying to find common ground where Shalish can be allowed some time to attend his poetry concerts, while he continues filming for the show. The source added that Everyone hopes it ends on a happy note.

India’s longest-running sitcom also made headlines after actress Disha Vakani, who played Diabene, left the show in 2017 after giving birth to a baby girl. The role has not yet been recast.
