Sirathu MLA Pallavi Patel suffers brain stroke, admitted to hospital

Sirathu MLA Pallavi Patel was admitted to the intensive care unit of Medanta Hospital in Lucknow after she suffered a brain stroke on Wednesday.

The Apna Dal (Kamerawadi) MLA came into limelight after defeating Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Maurya in the last assembly elections.

A team of doctors and specialists at Medanta Hospital said that her condition is being closely monitored.

Two days ago, her mother Krishna Patel and opposition leader Om Prakash Rajbhar were arrested when they protested over the birth anniversary celebrations of her father and influential OBC leader Sonelal Patel.

Apna Dal (Sonelal), led by her sister, Anupriya Patel, celebrated their father’s anniversary at the Indira Gandhi Foundation in Lucknow, while her mother and elder sister protested in an open family feud.

    Under the second phase of the Smart City initiative, 12 government-aided and government secondary schools in Prayagraj have been provided smart classroom facilities, state education department officials said.     An FIR has been registered against the contractor of an under-construction building where a six-year-old boy died after falling into a six-feet-deep water-filled lift shaft in Dombivili on Tuesday. The contractor, identified as Rupesh Patil (36), has been booked by Dombivili Manpada police under IPC Section 304A, causing death by negligence.

    The Deputy Chief Minister inaugurated the Neurophysiology Lab, Oxygen Unit at SGPGIMS

    Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak on Wednesday inaugurated the newly constructed Clinical Neurophysiology Lab and 1000 LPM (Litre Per Minute) Oxygen PSA Unit at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS). SGPGIMS director Professor Radha Krishna Dhiman said that video electroencephalogram plays an important role in surgery in 15 to 20% of epilepsy patients who do not respond to medication. Patients with headaches are treated with magnetic stimulation along with any medication.

    Water storage in Pune dams will increase, sowing activity will accelerate

    Due to the current rains, the water level has risen in four dams – Khadakwasla, Panshet, Warasgaon and Temghar in Pune. Irrigation department officials said that the water level, which was less than 2, has risen to 3.67 tmc on Wednesday. Water levels are expected to rise further as rain activity is expected to continue till July 9.

    Lalu left for Delhi for treatment at AIIMS

    Ailing Rashtriya Janata Dal chief and former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad (74) was taken to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi in an air ambulance on Wednesday evening, people familiar with the matter said. Earlier in the day, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Health Minister Mangal Pandey met Prasad at Patna Hospital and inquired about his health.
