Sikkim Becomes Covid-free After Two Years

On Friday, the Ministry of Health said Sikkim became COVID-free after two years with the last two patients recovering. She added that the state had not reported any new cases out of the 84 samples tested in the past 24 hours.

Sikkim has reported a total of 39,165 COVID-19 cases, 37,966 patients have recovered so far, while 747 have immigrated from the northeastern state. The department said the death toll of COVID has reached 452. Sikkim reported its first case of COVID-19 on May 23, 2020 after a 25-year-old student who had returned from Delhi tested positive.
