I don’t feel sad at all. That was one of the best cricket games I’ve played. The way we have to deal with our character and attitude was simply wonderful. I love how Renko got us to the end, but unfortunately I couldn’t time when there were two balls left, it was really sad. I was hoping he could finish the match for us and he could have been the champion, but he still plays a great kick and I’m really happy for him,” Iyer told broadcasters.

“When we got in, I never thought it would play that way because it was dry and the grass wasn’t wet. I thought it would be a little help for the spinners but once they start going. LSG took over the bowlers and got the overall average. It was a do-or-die situation. For us, even after losing two blades in the powerplay, our mentality was to go chase and close as much as possible and put them under pressure. It’s been a choppy season for us, we’ve started great but we’ve lost five games in a row and I personally feel like we did a lot of chop and change, we had to Doing it because of the hits and the form, but we also got to know players like Renko.

KKR may be out of the knockout race but they made it tough for the Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings. Quick turns helped Kolkata improve its net run rate and jump to sixth place. On the other hand, Punjab and Hyderabad have negative NRR reports which may be a concern for them.
