The brother of Bollywood actor Shraddha Kapoor, Siddhanth Kapoor, was released on bail late Monday after he was arrested on drug charges in Bengaluru. Police said the other four were released on bail. Bihma Shankar Guled, Deputy Commissioner of Police in East Bengaluru, said Siddhanth Kapoor and the other four would have to appear before the police when called.
Siddhanth was arrested by Bengaluru police on drug charges at a party in the city on Sunday night. Siddhanth was reportedly partying at a hotel on MG Road, where the police launched a raid on a tip-off.
Medicine shows Siddhanth Kapoor that he took drugs. We have already arrested him and are following up on the procedures. “We will send him to judicial custody,” Mr. Gould said.
Meanwhile, Siddhanth’s father, actor Shakti Kapoor, responded with shock. When News18.com reached out to the veteran actor right after the news broke, he said, “I’m not aware of anything. I just woke up and my phone started ringing constantly. He was not arrested but was arrested by the cops for (drug) abuse.” I don’t think there was any takeover. I have a lot of information coming in the news and I’m really annoyed by this news.”
In 2020, Shraddha Kapoor was summoned by the DEA to record her statement in a drug investigation linked to the death of movie star Susanth Singh Rajput. The NCB investigation team has recorded her statement regarding the drug case related to Rajput’s death and Bollywood-drug relationship as well.
On the work front, Shraddha is currently filming for the upcoming Love Ranjan with Ranbir Kapoor in Spain. Siddhanth was last seen in Rumi Jafery’s Chehre, where he played Joe Cost, a former convict accused of murder.
