Director Selvaragavan has finally opened the second part of his 2006 blockbuster Tamil film Pudhupettai. The acclaimed director recently shared that he has plans to make Pudhupettai 2 and will start working on the project soon.
According to reports, in 2020, Selvaraghavan announced the sequel to this gangster drama in collaboration with his brother Dhanush. Since then, there has been much speculation about the making of the film, which has turned into a cult classic in Tamil cinema.
Pudhupettai was released in May 2006 and received great reviews. Dhanush fans are eagerly awaiting the sequel to the movie. In a recent interview, Selvaraghavan said that a lot of fans are waiting for Aayirathil Oruvan 2 and Pudhupettai 2 and he has plans to serialize these films. The actor and director added that work on these projects will begin in due course.
On the work front, Selvaraghavan is currently busy shooting Naane Varuven. Dhanush plays a dual role in this movie. In the interview, Silvaragavan said that the audience will love the film. The film is in post-production and will be finished soon.
The director revealed that he does not intend to star in Naane Varuven alongside Dhanush, but his cast forced him to star in the film.
Selvaraghavan has received great reviews for his acting in Saani Kaayidham, which was released on May 6 on Amazon Prime Video. Directed by Arun Mathiswaran was well received by the audience, and actress Keerthy Suresh was praised for her role as Bonnie, a police cop who fights class-based crimes. The director also worked in the movie Beast, which featured Thalapathi Vijay in the main role.
In the interview, director Silvaragavan praised the crew of Saani Kaayidham for the immersive response to the film. The director praised the actress Keerthy Suresh and also mentioned that the artistic staff did an excellent job.
