Richard Gasquet Stuns Daniil Medvedev at the Geneva Open to Join Elite List

French tennis player Richard Gasquet achieved a massive feat with a stunning 6-2 7-6 (5) victory over second seed Daniil Medvedev at the Geneva Open on Tuesday. Gasquet became the 10th active man to score 35 or more career wins over the Top 10. With this win, the 35-year-old joined the elite roster that includes players such as Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray.

Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic is currently ranked number one on the list with 232 wins in his cat. Roger Federer is second on the list with 224 wins. Australian Open champion Rafael Nadal (181 wins), currently finds himself third on the list. British-born tennis player Andy Murray finished fourth in the elite list.

Murray, who has 104 wins to his name, is followed by Stanislas Wawrinka (58 wins), Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (45 wins), Alexander Zverev (41 wins), Kei Nishikori (40 wins), Feliciano Lopez (39 wins).

Notably, it was also Gasket’s 10th career win over the Top 5 (and the second best win of his career by ranking). Previously, in 2005, Gasquet defeated Federer in the quarter-finals of the Monte Carlo Masters.
