Rahul Gandhi questioned: Chandigarh Congress protests at ED office

Several workers and activists of the Chandigarh Congress have staged a peaceful protest in front of the Office of Enforcement Directorate (ED), Sector 18, Chandigarh, since 10 am on Monday.

The Congress alleged “the misuse of law enforcement agencies by the BJP-led union government and the unwarranted and unnecessary summons of Rahul Gandhi by the New Delhi Enforcement Directorate in the National Herald case”.

Speaking at the protest, Harmwinder Singh Laki, the newly appointed Chandigarh Assembly Speaker said, “The Modi government has failed miserably in managing the country’s economy. As a result, people are having to go through severe hardships in their daily lives. The Modi government is now trying to implicate Congress leader Rahul. Gandhi is on a false cause, only to divert people’s attention from the complete failures on all fronts.”

Lucky described Rahul Gandhi’s summons by the emergency department as a petty policy of revenge, and said that “a strange case of money laundering is being pursued where money is not involved”.
