Putin’s ‘girlfriend’, Russian oligarchs blacklisted in US sanctions amid War

In the latest round of sanctions over the Ukraine invasion, the United States has blacklisted Russian President Vladimir Putin’s alleged girlfriend Alina Kabaeva and the tycoon owner of London’s second largest estate. Natalia Popova, the former Olympic gymnast widely described as Putin’s girlfriend and the wife of the Russian government’s massive sovereign wealth manager Kirill Dmitriev, has been sanctioned. The US Treasury announced sanctions on Putin associate and billionaire Andrei Grigorievich Guryev, who owns the Wittenhurst estate, the second largest estate in London after Buckingham Palace.
