Punjabi singer and lyricist Johnny Johan and two others were injured after the SUV they were traveling in overturned three times after colliding with another vehicle in Sector 88 on Tuesday evening.
The singer and his friend were sitting in the back seat, and the driver was at the wheel of a Toyota Fortuner.
Sohana Station House Officer (SHO) said the accident occurred around 6 pm when the trio was heading towards Sector 91. “When they reached the Sector 88 light point, the Ford Figo collided with their SUV from behind and the driver lost control. The SUV overturned three times, however, the airbags saved the lives of the passengers. The three victims were pulled out of the vehicle and admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali, he said.
The singer reportedly sustained injuries on his neck and back. The driver of the Ford Figo escaped unhurt as the car’s airbag deployed after the collision. “We have not received any complaints so far,” he said.
An eyewitness, who did not wish to be named, said that the SUV, which was traveling at high speed, lost control after colliding with another car.
