Pune: Man arrested for unnatural sex with 7-year-old boy

Pimpri Chinchwad Police have arrested a 27-year-old man for allegedly having unnatural sex with a seven-year-old boy. The police identified the accused as Alem Musa Sheikh.

The incident occurred on July 17 and an initial media report was filed at a police station on the same day based on the boy’s family complaint, police said.

According to a police press release, the man lured the boy who was playing in a park by offering him chocolates. She added that he later had sex with the boy and fled the scene. After learning of the incident, the boy’s family filed a complaint with the police.

A senior police inspector has launched an investigation into the case. Police checked CCTV images from the area where the alleged crime was committed. During further investigations, they recognized the accused and arrested him on July 18.

Police have booked the accused under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 377 (unnatural crimes), 367 (kidnapping or kidnapping) and 506 (criminal intimidation), and sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (Pocso).

Police said the sheikh was arrested a few months ago in a drug case at Pembry Police Station, under sections of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
