PM Modi’s mega employment push, directs 10 lakh recruitments in 18 months | Latest News India

The Prime Minister’s review meeting comes two months after the Union Government Secretaries were instructed to take immediate steps to fill existing vacancies in Ministries and Departments.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) tweeted on Tuesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday reviewed the status of human resources in all government departments and ministries to recruit ten lakh people over the next 18 months.

The Prime Minister’s review meeting came two months after the Union Government Secretaries were instructed to take immediate steps to fill vacancies in ministries and departments, quoting Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gouba, the news agency PTI reported.

During his meeting with secretaries on April 2, the prime minister emphasized that employment should be central to all government interventions in the public and private sectors.

The Cabinet Secretary has written to the Secretaries and requested immediate action on the Prime Minister’s advice.

The government’s decision comes after opposition parties have repeatedly criticized the unemployment problem. A large number of vacancies are frequently flagged in various government sectors.
