Businessman Pallonji Mistry Died At the age of 93 at his Mumbai residence on Monday night. Born in the metropolitan area on June 1, 1929, the construction magnate survives with his four children – two sons and two daughters.

Here are five things you need to know about Pallonji Shapoorji Mistry:

(1.) Mr. Mistry was president of the Shapoorji Pallonji Group, founded in 1865. Headquartered in Mumbai, the association operates in the fields of construction, real estate, textiles, home appliances, electricity, biotechnology and so on.

(2.) At 18.4%, Pallonji was the largest individual shareholder in Tata Sons. His son, Cyrus, was head of Tata Sons from November 2011 to October 2016. After Cyrus was ousted, Tata Sons filed a legal battle with the then president of Tata Sons, Ratan Tata.

(3).) The late businessman was an Irish citizen for 13 years at the time of receiving the Padma Bhushan (in January 2016), India’s third highest civilian award. In 2003, he renounced his Indian citizenship and became a citizen of Ireland.

(4.) In April 2021, the Bloomberg Billionaires Index estimated Pallonji Mistry’s wealth at USD 28 billion, making him one of Ireland’s richest men.

(5.) His biography was released in 2008. The book is titled ‘The Moguls of Real Estate’ and was written by Manoj Namboor.
