Pakistan’s newly appointed Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will attend the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland from May 23-26, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry said on Sunday. Bilawal, who visited the United States and China as part of his overseas tours after assuming the position of Foreign Minister of Pakistan, was invited by the President of the World Economic Forum and will be accompanied by Minister of State for External Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ministry said that Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will attend the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, from May 23 to 26. During the World Economic Forum, Bilawal will share Pakistan’s perspective on the economic and social impacts of evolving geopolitical developments as well as challenges arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, food security, energy security and climate change.
He will also meet with his peers who attend the annual meeting and interact with the media. The World Economic Forum annually brings together political and business leaders as well as representatives from international organizations, civil society and youth representatives from around the world to deliberate and identify pathways to overcome economic, social and environmental challenges.
This year’s World Economic Forum is organized under the theme “History at a Turning Point: Government Policies and Business Strategies”.
