NTR’s 100th birth anniversary: Ramajogayya Sastry pens Jai NTR song in his memory, fans celebrate the ‘pride of every Telugu soul’

Composer Thaman S, legendary poet Ramajogayya Sastry on Saturday celebrated the life of Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao on the centenary of his birth. The song titled Jai NTR honors the late actor’s contribution to the Hindi film industry. The song was sung by Swaraag Keerthan.

Ram Charan tweeted a photo of NTR with the caption, “Today marks the centenary of the birth of the pride of Indian cinema, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao Garu. Remember the legend that inspired millions not only to watch cinema but also to be a part of it.”

Venkatesh Dagupati called Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao “the world-famous actor and sovereign leader, who made the Telugu language, Telugu people and Telugu nation rise step by step”. Ram Buttinini tweeted, remembering the actor, “Some saw him as an ordinary man.. some saw him as a god.. but in the end everyone realized he was a man sent by God!”

Sai Dharam Tej remembered the late actor and mentioned how he “presented so many classics that have our hearts and rose to the heights that they were hailed as the pride of the Telugu people single-handedly”.

Earlier in the day, Junior NTR and Kalyam Ram visited the NTR Ghat in Hyderabad to pay their respects. Nandamuri Balakrishna also praised the actor.
