Naga Chaitanya was leaving Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s office in Mumbai on Tuesday. Fans of the actor want him to work in Devdas produced by the filmmaker. Chaitanya’s grandfather Nageswara Rao acted in the Telugu version of Devadasu released in 1953.
Naga Chaitanya, who is busy promoting Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer Lal Singh Chadha, left filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s office in Mumbai on Tuesday. Pictures of Chaitanya outside Bhansali’s office were widely shared on social media and his fans responded by requesting the filmmaker to do Devdas with the actor. The 1953 film, Devadasu, is still considered one of the iconic films of the Telugu industry. In the comments section of a tweet with Naga Chaitanya’s recent outing in Mumbai, a fan wrote in Telugu, “Ask Bhansali (Sanjay Leela Bhansali) to do Devdas with him”. Another wrote, “Bollywood’s biggest (filmmaker) is finally bringing out our hidden gem.” In pictures shared by paparazzi and fan pages on Twitter and Instagram, Chaitanya is seen wearing a black tee and light brown khaki chinos.
Chaitanya was recently seen in the Telugu film Thank You. He will play the lead role in his next film Lal Singh Chadda. Chaitanya joined the cast replacing actor Vijay Sethupathi, who was originally signed on to play the role. Chaitanya’s Bollywood debut will see him playing the role of Aamir Khan’s close friend. His part was shot in Ladakh for a month. Lal Singh Chadha is the Indian adaptation of Tom Hanks’ Forrest Gump. Chaitanya will be seen in the role of Benjamin Buford Blue aka Bubba.
Chaitanya will soon start working with filmmaker Venkat Prabhu on an upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual film. This is the first project he has signed after his separation from his ex-wife Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Last year, Chaitanya appeared in the Telugu romantic drama Love Story, which became one of the biggest hits of his career. Directed by Shekhar Kammula, the film also starred Sai Pallavi.
