Maharashtra Chief Minister Udhav Thackeray instructed the ministers from Shiv Sena to speed up the various development work of the party legislators constituencies and prepare to fight for and win the second Rajya Sabha seat of the party and the upcoming local body elections. Within days the meeting group sent a clear message to party leaders that the prime minister, who had been ill for nearly six months after spinal surgery in November, was back in full shape and back to work.
Meanwhile, BMC plans to install flood gauges with sensors across the city to measure waterlogging levels during the monsoons. Initially, the civil authority will install these flood gauges at about 100 sites. The project is likely to start in this monsoon. As per the available data, there are 386 flood spots in Mumbai; BMC has taken mitigation measures in 280 of these sites.
