Mohun Bagan rope in Australian centre-half Brendan Hamill as Tiri’s replacement

Mohun Bagan snatched the net against Australian half-back Brendan Hamill, replacing the injured Terry. The latter suffered a ruptured ACL during an AFC Cup qualifier match against Gokulam FC. Australian footballer Hummel has signed a two-year contract with Pagan.

Mohon Bagan defender Terry has been ruled out for at least seven weeks after suffering a knee injury.

Hummel, 29, is primarily a centre-back, and has a wealth of experience on Australian soil with clubs such as Western Sydney Wanderers and Western United. The former Melbourne defender Victory started his career with Melbourne Heart when he was just 17 years old in April 2010. He also played for the Australian national under-17, under-20 and under-23 teams.

According to media reports, Juan Ferrando, the Spanish coach for Pagan, was looking for a defensive player in the Asian quota for the upcoming AFC Cup semi-finals. In accordance with that plan, the Green Maroon management named Hamill to the team.
