Mistaken for a thief, 19-year-old celebrating friend’s birthday attacked

A young man celebrating his friend’s birthday is allegedly beaten up by locals in Pafdan district of Pune after they thought he was a thief.

Police identified the young man as Nitesh Deepak Shelar (19), a resident of Shriram Nivas in Pafdan, and said that while the incident occurred on the night of June 25, Shellar filed a preliminary media report (FIR) at Hingwadi Police Station. early on Tuesday.

According to the FIR, Shellar was celebrating his friend’s birthday near the Ganga Legend Society’s labor camp in Pafdan. He’s entered the labor camp, said Schiller, running after his friend to put a cake on his face. People in the area suspected Chilar was a thief and attacked him, according to the FIR.

Schiller, who had a serious head injury, was later taken to hospital for treatment.

A team of Hingwadi Police under the supervision of Assistant Police Inspector Ganesh Karj investigates the case. Based on Shellar’s complaint, three persons were detained in the labor camp under Sections 326 (Causing Serious Harm by Voluntarily Dangerous Weapons or Means), 323 (Voluntarily Causing Harm) and 34 (Acts by Multiple Persons to Promote Common Intent) of the Indian Penal Code. and sections of the Indian Arms Act.
