“A proposal to build a barat ghar and a funeral home in all the village panchayats in the state has been sent to the finance department for necessary action,” he said.

The Rural Development Department, headed by Maurya, estimates the cost of each Bharatgarh and funeral site 36 lakhs and 24 lakhs respectively. “Thus, the total project cost of constructing barat ghars and funerals is estimated 17,456.70 crore and 14,174.84 crore respectively.

In addition to the construction of community toilets, connecting roads will be constructed for all churches and funerals where light, drinking water and other facilities will be provided.

“When I visit the villages, I regularly receive advice from the people and their representatives on the site of Bharat Ghar and the funeral,” said Maurya, “I have found merit in their suggestions and directed the department to prepare a proposal in case of need.”
