Madhya Pradesh Plans Monthly Ranking of Govt Schools to Improve Education

In a bid to improve the quality if education in Madhya Pradesh schools, the state’s Ministry of Education recently announced on its official Twitter account that it will provide the government school rankings from Class 1 to Class 8 every month.

According to the announcement, the government will start providing ranks to schools in all 52 districts based on the quality of education. Schools will be ranked based on the number of points they receive for doing homework and producing quality work.

Another tweet posted by the Ministry of Education revealed that the decision to classify the schools was taken following the guidance of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan. The official notice claims that the Prime Minister has asked officials to publish the monthly ranking of the schools on the CM dashboard.

Meanwhile, earlier this month, Shivraj Singh Chouhan also announced new scholarships to encourage Sanskrti among students. He promised to provide scholarships to students who are learning Sanskrit. Reportedly, the scholarship is set to begin in July. According to media reports, this decision was taken before the cabinet meeting in Vallabh Bhawan when addressing his cabinet ministers. Reports said students will be able to apply for the scholarship through an online portal.

The scholarship aims to help students and priests studying Sanskrit. This will also fill the empty Sanskrit Instructor positions. As per the Times of India report, 1,900 jobs have been filled so far, and appointments have been made to the remaining jobs. Furthermore, until the teachers are appointed, arrangements will be made for guest faculty members. CM Chouhan made a number of announcements at the beginning of May, including the state government’s plan to add a lesson on Bhagwan Parshuram to the school curriculum.
