Madhya Pradesh: Man thrashed for not showing Aadhar card, found dead

BhopalA man has been found dead in an unidentified body in Madhya Pradesh’s Neemuch district, police said on Saturday.

Bhanwarlal Jain, 60, a resident of Sarsi village in Ratlam, was found dead in Mansa on Friday.

The video of the incident where Mansa Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) corporator Dinesh Kushwaha beats Jain and asks for Aadhar card is viral on social media. In the video, Kushwaha was seen asking for a Muslim. HT was unable to independently review the video.

After the video went viral on social media, police on Saturday registered an FIR under Section 304 (Due to Negligence of Death) and 302 (Murder) of IPC.

Speaking at the Mansa police station, KL Dangi said, “Bhanwaralal Jain had gone to Chittagoda with his family on May 18. He was lost. On Friday, he was found dead at Mansa in Neemuch district. The video later went viral on social networking sites. ”

We are reviewing the video. Strict action will also be taken against those who have videotaped the accused. Dinesh Kushwaha is absconding after the incident, a police official said.

Congress leaders, meanwhile, staged a protest against the BJP-led state government.

Congress legislator Jitu Patwari said, “A person has been shot and killed for not showing law and order in AAP. Jains were attacked after Muslim, Dalit and tribal people. None of the MPs are safe. The home minister has something to say.

BJP spokesperson Hitesh Vajpayee said, “This is a tragic incident and a fair investigation should be conducted.”
