A Nepalese man and his two assistants have taken valuables from a house in the MIG flat of Sector 32, Chandigarh Road, where he has been working as a house helper for the past 11 years.
The accused has been identified as Bahadur Prakash Jetri, 29, of Nepal. He was working as a house assistant in the house of complainant Parminder Singh Bajwa.
The theft occurred between June 18 and June 20, when Parminder was on vacation with his family in Himachal Pradesh.
Parminder said Jetri has been working as a housekeeper in his home since he was 18 and they trusted him.
“We went on holiday on June 18. On June 20, I got a call from a friend’s son who told me that my house locks were broken. Some documents and valuables, including the MacBook, were lost, he said.
Investigating officer ASI Randhir Singh said the two men who were working as housekeepers in the neighborhood are missing and their relatives are suspected by the police.
A case has been registered at Section 7 police station under sections 381, 380 and 457 of the Indian Penal Code.
