A case was registered against a local CPI(M) leader for allegedly attempting to photograph a woman on a mobile phone while she was in the bathroom, after which the party suspended him. The secretary of the ruling party branch (M) in Palakkad district was taken into custody by the police on Friday on the basis of a complaint lodged by his neighbor. The accused is on the run.

Yesterday’s case was registered based on a complaint filed by the woman. “We haven’t arrested him yet,” police told PTI. Meanwhile, the woman, who is also a CPI(M) worker, told the media that she found someone recording her using a mobile phone and shouted, who was later identified.

I complained to the party’s senior leaders yesterday the same. They gave me all the support and stopped him from the party and his post the same morning. The party is pursuing the case for me. The police also registered a case against him.”
