As a major break for tourists and the public, the Ladakh UT administration has thrown open helicopter services for visitors to the area.

“The first batch of tourists received heli-service in Ladakh as the administration usually opened services to tourists and visitors,” an official spokesman said.

The helicopter services operated by the UT Administration of Ladakh read the order from the Civil Aviation Department of Ladakh that the administration of Ladakh is generally available to the public at zones and rates as previously specified.

Individuals who wish to make bookings on the notified routes can book tickets online at https://heliservice.ladakh.gov.in/.

A different booking mechanism is made available on the portal for travelers category other than Ladakh residents.

The order made it clear that ticket availability or actual flight on the route will be contingent on the number of passengers, weather conditions or any other operational restrictions.

The administration has opened services with two choppers, a five-seater B-3 chopper and a larger Mi-172.

These services currently include Leh, Kargil, Padum, Lingshed, Dibling, Narak, Diskit, Turkuk, Srinagar and Jammu.
