A laborer killed his colleague with a sharp weapon Thursday at a house under construction in a residential colony on Kachramak Road, Jagran.

The accused has been identified as Ramesh Kumar.

The owner of the building, Gurvinder Singh of Aram city, first discovered the body of the deceased, identified as Umesh Saho, 50, of Bihar.

Umesh and Ramesh told police that they were lying on the floor of the house, lying on the bed with stones.

No one opened the door on Thursday morning though. He was measuring the compound wall using a ladder and was shocked to see that Umesh was lying dead in a pool of blood.

Vigilante police rushed to the spot and launched an investigation. The police suspected that Ramesh had killed Umesh during a quarrel between the two men while consuming liquor.

ASI Anwar Mish, who is investigating the case, said the exact cause of the murder will be known only after Ramesh’s arrest. A murder case has been filed against him and a search is underway for his arrest.
