Karnataka CM, in Delhi, dials up Amit Shah to discuss Rajya Sabha candidate list | Bengaluru

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai arrived in Delhi on Friday for a second visit in about 10 days, leading to speculation about a rebirth in the state cabinet ahead of next year’s elections. However, speaking to reporters on Saturday morning, he said, “I have not met Amit Shah. Instead, I have dialed him.

“I was in Delhi yesterday evening. I was planning to meet Amit Shah. Because of his urgent engagement, I was able to talk with him as much as last night. The news agency PTI quoted the leader as saying.

Bommai’s visit to the nation’s capital has begun talks of a long-awaited cabinet reshuffle or expansion.

There were voices of resentment within the ruling BJP last month, while party legislator MP Renukacharya and CM’s political secretary were outraged over the delay. Many of the party lawmakers are of the opinion that new faces should be added to the cabinet.

Bommai, who was in New Delhi on May 10 and 11, met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah on the second day to discuss the long-awaited cabinet expansion or revival. It is reported that chief ministers are under pressure to expand their cabinet as soon as possible before next year’s assembly elections.

Bommai said he would check the rain situation in the state after his return. Many parts of the state are underwater this week.
