Johnny Depp to Make Comeback With Boston George Docuseries After Winning Trial Against Amber Heard

Johnny Depp won a defamation lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard in an op-ed she wrote in 2018 last week. A Virginia jury ruled that Heard slandered Depp when she accused him of domestic violence in an op-ed in the Washington Post, in which she did not name him. However, Johnny has suffered serious damage to his reputation and it is not yet clear if the Hollywood star can revive his acting career. If reports are to be believed, Johnny will return with the Boston Georges documentary series. The documentary series revolves around George Jacob Jung, who was a drug smuggler and smuggler. Depp portrayed the late George Jung in the 2001 film Blow.

The five-part series will feature interviews with Johnny Depp, Young partner Rhonda Clay Spinello, friend of Wayne “Tuna” Tominin, and two DEA agents who arrested Jung in 1994.

Recently, the trailer for Boston George was released on YouTube.

Young, nicknamed the Boston George, was a major figure in the cocaine trade in the United States in the 1970s and early 1980s. Jung and his partner Carlos Leader smuggled cocaine into the United States for the Colombian organization Medellin Cartel. George Jung was sentenced to 70 years in prison in 1994 on conspiracy charges, but was released in 2014. Jung died last year.

The Boston George will be the first new movie or TV series to feature Depp since his sensational defamation trial against Amber Heard. The documentary series is set to premiere on streaming service Fandor on July 22.

Depp has other projects on his cat that include a musical collaboration with Jeff Beck and a potential role in Tim Burton’s sequel to Beetlejuice.

There are also reports that Depp may reprise the role of Captain Jack Sparrow in Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean. Recently, a former Disney executive told People magazine that Depp may return in the popular Pirates of the Caribbean series.

The unnamed former Disney CEO was quoted as saying, “I think fully after the verdict the ‘pirates’ were set to reboot with Johnny when Captain Jack got back on the plane.”
