IPL 2022: Arjun Tendulkar Bowls Searing Yorkers Ahead of MI v DC Clash

When Mumbai Indians bought Arjun Tendulkar at the 2021 IPL auctions, it caused quite a stir. Then it was released only to be bought again a year later for INR 30. With the Mumbai Indians effectively knocked out of the tournament and relegated to the bottom of the points table, there are increasing calls to give Arjun Tendulkar a chance against the Delhi Capitals. Fans may be wondering why Arjun, son of Sachin Tendulkar, has not warmed up the bench for so long.

The question is will he get a chance as Mumbai prepares to face Delhi on Saturday. A lot will depend on DC here because a loss for them could help RCB qualify. Several RCB cricketers including Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli have said they will be rooting for Mumbai. If playing Arjun, Kohli will root Tendulkar’s son! What a sight that would be.

Meanwhile, Arjun was seen training hard on the net ahead of the DC clash. Even Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma has indicated he may try new faces.

Asked about Mumbai bowling at the presentation ceremony, Rohit said, “We wanted to try some things that keep our eyes on the future. We wanted to try some of the players to sit under pressure in certain situations of the game.

“I thought they struggled really well to get to 193 but the way we pulled things off at the back end was a fantastic effort.”

The captain will be happy to see Arjun shooting the Yorkers in the Mumbai window constantly. Even earlier, he was able to clean Ishaan Kishan in the net with one of these workers. Kishan turned out to be a poor investment as Mumbai paid INR 15.25 for the talented left hand.

With DC facing off in Mumbai, we must see if legendary Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun finally gets a match after warming up the bench in 27 consecutive matches over two seasons. We have to mention that Arjun can hit quite a bit down the rankings.
