India on Friday described the comments made by the Independent Permanent Human Rights Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in which New Delhi criticized the court’s ruling against Kashmiri separatist leader Yasin Malik as “unacceptable”.

Foreign Affairs Ministry spokeswoman, Arindam Baghee, said the world seeks “zero tolerance” for terrorism, and urged the Organization of Islamic Cooperation not to justify it in any way.

“India considers the comments made by the Independent Human Rights Commission of the Organization of the Islamic Conference today to be unacceptable, which criticizes India for the ruling in the Yasin Malik case,” Baji said. “Through these comments, the Independent Human Rights Commission of the Organization of the Islamic Conference tacitly expressed its support for the terrorist activities of Yasin Malik, which were documented and presented in court,” he said.

Baji was responding to media inquiries regarding comments made by the OIC Human Rights Commission on the ruling of the National Intelligence Agency’s court against Malik. The spokesman said: “The world seeks zero tolerance for terrorism and we urge the Organization of the Islamic Conference not to justify it in any way.”
