Former footballer Ashish Nehra has advised the Indian team not to pressure Hardik Pandya to play 4 times in every match. Hardek recently got back in shape and led the Gujarat Titans to the IPL title in his first season itself. Nehra, who worked alongside Pandya as head coach at Gujarat, admitted that India needed the services of bowler Hardik in the T20Is, but he wants management to slowly boost him.

The Nehra-Pandya partnership did wonders at the recently concluded IPL as the duo also shared a great camaraderie. The glowing multi-skilled player proved his power with the bats at the IPL 2022 as he promoted himself in the batting standings to showcase his talent.
Nohra said Pandya has all the credentials to fit any shape as a bat but in the T20I it provides an added advantage if he deals with bowling as well.
“We always talk about Hardik Pandya, whether he’ll be able to run or not. Look, what I think is that Pandya can fit into any shape as a batsman; even in Test matches. But here, we’re talking about the T20s. We’re talking about the T20s,” Nohra said of the Cricbuzz website: “If he compensates, it will obviously be good for India.”

Nehra also advised Team India to use Hardik as their sixth bowling alley and not pressure him to play 4 times per match.
“With the India squad they need Hardik Pandya because there is none of the first class hitter bowl. He uses Hardik as a fifth player very often. If he is fit then he should run without a doubt. But it would be better if Hardik plays without the constant pressure. Bowling four times in each match. “You have to play five bowlers and Hardik Pandya as the sixth bowler,” Nohra said.
Gujarat Titans head coach said Hardik has all the capabilities and skills to be the second or third player on the team, but given his recent injuries, he wants India to manage the workload.
“Look, I’m not saying that Hardyk can’t be the fifth bowler. With his skills, he could be your second or third player as well. But he recently came back from injury, and he played in the IPL all over, so it would be better if you build it slowly,”
