Ravindra Babu, Kakinada District, said that after the autopsy concluded that the victim, T. Subramaniam, did not die in an accident but was beaten, resulting in his death, the FIR was amended from IPC 174 (accidental death) to section 302 (murder). mayors), and Bhaskar was initially arrested for questioning.

Police sources said that the autopsy report indicated 27 injuries to the head, chest, abdomen, hands and legs. The sources said that while only Bhaskar has been arrested so far, his associates are also under questioning.

Sources said Subramaniam was taken to a beach in Kakinada on the night of May 19 and was assaulted while holding sand. Bhaskar was sent by a district court to judicial custody for 15 days.

According to the police, Bhaskar drove to Subramaniam’s home around 2am on April 20, body the latter in the back seat. He reportedly told the family that he had sent Subramaniam to fetch food the night before, when he encountered a fatal accident. Police said angry family members fled the scene.

Sources said Bhaskar told the police that he sacked Subramaniam from his job about five months ago, after which the latter started to file charges against him. Bhaskar told the police that Subramaniam was trying to blackmail him by saying that he would disclose his personal and financial affairs in public.

Meanwhile, tension remains in Kakinada City, with angry family members and relatives, as well as locals, demanding justice for the Subramaniam family.
