Hema Malini complains about potholes in Mumbai: ‘Kya tha, kya ho gaya’

Actress-turned-politician Hema Malini has expressed her disappointment with Mumbai’s roads. Sharing the public’s concern, he said the plight of a pregnant woman traveling on roads ‘full of potholes’ is unimaginable. Recently she shared her first experience. Hema first appeared in a lead role opposite Raj Kapoor in Sapno Ka Saudagar and rose to fame. She is best known for films like Dream Girl, Sita Aur Geeta, Sholay, Naseeb, Satte Pe Satta and Baghbaan. She was last seen in Rajkumar Rao and Rakul Preet Singh starrer Shimla Mirchi. She is also a Member of Parliament and a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Her constituency is Mathura.

Highlighting the problem of potholes in Mumbai amid monsoon, Hema told ETimes, “I can’t imagine how a pregnant woman would travel on these pothole-filled roads. My concern is for Mumbaikars and the job of the police is to control traffic and guide the commuters on the road. Today I had a first hand experience of it. “

“I am afraid to go out because there is so much traffic and chaos. In places like Delhi and Mathura, though there is still a lot of traffic, things have been smoothed out now,” he said. Hema who was traveling Mumbai and its suburban areas like Juhu, China Creek and Dahisar also said, “We have traveled a lot on these roads for shooting, but now it is very difficult, today’s experience says Mumbai kya tha kya ho. Gaya Hai (What Happened to Mumbai).”

Earlier, Hema had made headlines when former Maharashtra Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Gulabrav Patil compared the smooth roads of his constituency to the actor’s cheek. Responding to that, he said that such comments are not good. Gulabarao later apologized and told the media that “I did not intend to hurt anyone”.
