On Wednesday, the Haryana state government announced that a public school will be named after Lance Naik Nishan Singh, who died in a confrontation with terrorists in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir last month, in his village in Sirsa district. Prime Minister Manohar Lal Khattar visited Singh’s home in Bhavdin village on Wednesday to offer his condolences to the bereaved family members. He was accompanied by his deputy Dushyant Chautala, Energy Minister Ranjit Singh Chautala and Rep. Sirsa Sunita Dougal.
Khattar announced that a government school in Bhavdin would be named after Singh and a member of his family would be given a government job as per the rules. Khattar expressed his condolences to the Singh family members and said Haryana and Bhavdeen are proud of his sacrifice.
Nishan Singh showed exceptional courage while fighting terrorists. “It is only because of these brave soldiers that we feel completely safe today in our country,” the prime minister said. Khattar described Singh’s death as an irreparable loss. He said that the courage with which he gave his life for the safety of the country is a source of pride for all. Singh joined the army in 2013.
