While his father, actor Anil Kapoor, and sister, Sonam K Ahuja were mainstream film actors, Harshvardhan Kapoor chose not to take the same path. The actor has been doing unconventional projects and is proud of the way his career has shaped up so far. “I see the same re-packaged, rehashed version of most movies. I find them really boring and think all the actors are interchangeable in that format (mainstream cinema). There’s nothing new about it. It’s just a cycle of the same thing with a couple of changes here and there,” says 31. The year-old says he was last seen in a Thor movie.
Harsha says there is no dearth of good content, but such content either stalls or goes to “big stars”. The actor explains, “Sometimes, such films (films with unconventional storylines) don’t get shot. Bhavesh Joshi Superhero (2018) and Thor are the kind of films that compromise less in terms of creativity. That’s why they stand out. “
Being particular about the kind of projects he signs, the actor, who started his career with director Rakesh Omprakash Mehra’s Mirzya (2016), has only done a handful of films so far. “I am not an actor who needs to do back to back projects. All my films take time, as they are not typical Bollywood films. So I need perseverance. I am trying to put together some ambitious stuff,” he concludes.
