Gujarat Govt announces 589 vocational schools to offer 13 new skills

Gujarat Department of Education has announced 589 new Government Schools, Secondary and Vocational Secondary Schools offering scholarships to help which will introduce 13 new vocational skills to students. These schools are expected to start admission in September and October of this year.

With the aim of increasing professional knowledge among students and opportunities towards professional skills, these 589 new schools, mostly in central Gujarati, have been approved by the Government of India Samagra Shiksha under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The 13 new occupational occupations include agriculture, apparel, home furnishings, automotive, beauty and wellness, BFSI, electronics, food processing, IT/ITES, plumber, retail, sports, physical education, fitness and leisure, tourism, hospitality and healthcare. Education Minister Jitu Vagani announced.

These new vocational schools are approved to accommodate a minimum of 40 students in each professional occupation.

Under the new two-year pattern introduced under NEP 2020 to change the current four-year pattern (Class 9-12), these new schools were penalized in all 33 districts and businesses.

Officials revealed that teachers continue to advise parents and students to explain the benefits of professional skills to them. “Once counseling and training are complete, these schools will start accepting admissions, most likely in September,” said an education official. The syllabus, textbooks and training module for it have been prepared by Pandit Sunderlal Sharma Central Institute of Vocational Education, Bhopal.
