‘Found this in archives’: Dinesh Karthik reminds Mumbai Indians of his playing days with them ahead of Delhi Capitals match

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is hoping India’s Mumbai (MI) team will cap the ongoing IPL season with a victory against the Delhi Capitals (DC).

A win for the Indians in Mumbai would ensure that RCB would win the play-off. The equation is as simple as it can get for Delhi Capitals (+0.255) where they simply need to beat the Mumbai Indians to beat the Royal Challengers Bangalore (-0.253) on a better net run rate.

Dinesh Karthik, who spent two seasons with the Mumbai Indians, reminded the five-time champion of his days playing with them.

“I found this in the archives” with the emoji “cross fingers”, Karthik wrote.

Karthik played for the Mumbai Indians in 2012 and 2013. This is Karthik’s second assignment with RCB after the 2015 season when he was acquired for Rs 10.5 crore. At the mega IPL auction held earlier this year, it was purchased by RCB for Rs 5.5 crore.

Dinesh Karthik has been in an exceptional touch for RCB this season. Karthik raked in 287 runs in 14 matches with a blitz rating of 191.33.

Karthik increased his chances of being selected for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia.

RCB captain Faf du Plessis also paid tribute to Karthik in a recent interview.

“The way DK is playing at the moment, I may sound like a broken record, but he’s playing his best ever. He’s clear, calm and very calm,” said Du Plessis.

Karthik.too, has admitted that he wants to be a part of the Indian team’s dressing room again.

“I must admit that I have a bigger goal. I have been working hard. My goal is to do something special for the country. This is part of my journey. I have been trying everything to be a part of the Indian team,” he said.
