Sudeep Roy Burman questioned how he (Biplab Deb) survived in the CM’s residence amidst heavy security and helicopters.

AgartalaEx-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator and Congress leader Sudeep Roy Burman has said that he will take over as the chief minister of Tripura. Friday accused Manik Saha of running his “parallel regime”.

Roy Burman, who has been accused of internal disagreements within the BJP, said: “Biplab Deb seems to dislike Manik Saha as chief minister. They are running parallel regimes. ”

Sudeep Roy Burman was Health Minister in Biplab Deb’s Cabinet in 2018 but was dropped next year due to disagreements between them. Roy Burman switched to Congress this February. He left the Congress in 2016 and joined the Trinamool Congress. He left the TMC in 2017 and joined the BJP.

“We wonder how they (Deb) are still using helicopters amidst heavy security. I urge the Chief Secretary and the DGP to estimate and recoup the costs incurred for them since the new CM took office and withdrew the additional security. Roy Burman told reporters in Agartala that the people of Tripura would not leave the state without an answer to their wrongdoing during their CM’s tenure.

BJP spokesperson Subrata Chakraborty, who dismissed the allegation, said Biplab Deb had given Y + security to the Ministry of Home Affairs due to his threats after he became BJP president in 2016 and that MHA would decide whether to revise or revoke the security cover.

They are politically bankrupt because they have no problem reaching out to people. From his statement it seems that he has no idea of the BJP and its functioning. Chakraborty said that unlike the Congress, the BJP is a disciplinary party.

He said the building where Deb was the chief minister was formerly owned by former chief minister Manik Sarkar. The building was used by Surajit Dutta when he was in Congress but not as chief minister.

Dutta joined the saffron party ahead of the 2018 assembly elections and won from Ramanagara constituency in Agartala.

After remaining chief minister since 2018, Biplab Deb resigned from his post last week saying he was asked to focus on strengthening the party’s organization.
