Dozen more secondary schools in Prayagraj get smart classrooms

Under the second phase of the Smart City initiative, 12 government-aided and government secondary schools in Prayagraj have been provided smart classroom facilities, state education department officials said.

“Under the initiative, interactive boards (digital boards), projectors, speakers, bullet cameras and UPS for power backup have been installed in 245 classrooms of 11 government-aided secondary schools and one government-owned secondary school. Teachers can make learning more interesting by using the library and cloud tools available on the digital board to easily access images and videos,” said District Inspector of Schools (DIOS)-Prayagraj PN Singh.

Upgrading will allow students from one school to virtually attend subject lectures at another school if the teacher of that particular subject is not available for any reason, he said.

PPT slides, CNX and PNG files of what is taught in class are automatically generated, which even absent students can read later, he said.

A monitor has been installed in the principal’s room to monitor the classes. The official explained that the main server of all these schools is installed in the room of Yogendra Singh, principal of KP Inter College, from where all the schools can be monitored.

Sanjay Kumar Singh, an officer working on the plan to make smart schools in the district, said that these 12 schools in Prayagraj will be connected to the existing Integrated Control and Command Center (ICCC). These schools will be able to connect with smart schools in other cities of the state through live streaming in the coming months.
