Divyadu, who has appeared in films like Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Pyaar Ka Panchnama, has spoken about his name being listed on the Wikipedia page of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra.
Actor Divyadumu, best known for playing the role of Munna Tripathi in the popular serial Mirzapur, was recently asked if he would be a part of Ayan Mukherjee’s Brahmastra: Part 1 – Shiva. During the interview, Divya said that he did not know why his name was on the Wikipedia page of Brahmastra; He hinted that he might be a part of the second part of the film. Ranbir Kapoor starrer Brahmastra will hit the theaters on September 9 in five Indian languages - Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna Akkineni are also part of the fantasy-drama.
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Divya was asked about working with Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor in Brahmastra. Divya smiled and said, “This is fake news. I don’t understand how my name is on his Wikipedia page. Maybe for a sequel. I wouldn’t deny but not for this.”
I never had a meeting for this film and we never talked about it. I really hope they don’t include my name in the credits of the film. People say, ‘It’s really bad that your role was cut in the film.’
Divyadumu made his Bollywood debut with the 2011 film Pyaar Ka Panchnama, in which he essayed the role of Nishant aka Liquid. For the film, he won the Most Promising Newcomer Award at the 2012 Screen Awards. He later appeared opposite Narayan Sharma in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Sundar Tripathi in Batti Gul Meter Chalu and Munna Bhaiya in the Amazon Prime Video series Mirzapur. .
